2 November 2021

JAKARTA: As part of its contribution to achieving quality education in Indonesia, today (2/11), Astra awarded a grant to build an educational facility, the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) Science and Techno Park (STP).

At the occasion, ITB, represented by Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D as Rector handed an appreciation plaque to Astra. Also attending the event was Chief of Corporate Affairs Astra, Riza Deliansyah.

“We are committed to utilizing this facility funded by Astra. This STP building will be a place where researchers, innovators, and industry meet and collaborate to create innovations for the nation,” said Rector Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah Ph.D., in her speech.

“ITB Science & Techno Park Building is expected to be a forum for making innovations and supporting the realization of these innovations, thereby creating exceptional and resilient human resources,” said Chief of Corporate Affairs Astra, Riza Deliansyah.

The building has six floors with a total area of 4,007.02 m2. It will be used as a center for research, education, and business incubator programs that facilitate mentorship for start-ups.

Located on Jalan Ganesha No. 15, Bandung, the STP – a result of private-sector collaboration – is an energy-efficient green building equipped with multi-purpose rooms, office space for a cooperative, co-working space, and private space. Activities in this building are expected to be a bridge for campus innovators before entering the industry.

The support for the construction of this educational facility is also in line with one of the pillars of Astra’s social contribution in the education sector, namely Astra Untuk Indonesia Cerdas (Astra for Smart Indonesia). It has been implemented through assisting and developing early childhood education, primary and secondary education, higher education, special needs education, and safe traffic education across 34 provinces in Indonesia.

As of September 2021, Astra has assisted 21,535 schools, 3,320 vocational high schools, 58,400 teachers and granted 270,522 scholarships.
